Ministry-in-Action (MIA) is a short-term missions opportunity that is offered to all students. International trips take place between fall and spring semester. Trips within the United States happen during Spring Break.
Students at Oak Hills have many opportunities to travel and to interact with people of other cultures. In recent years, our students have engaged in study and/or service in India, Israel, Haiti, Bangladesh, and Ecuador. We also frequently send student groups to Minneapolis/St. Paul and other American urban centers to minister to and with diverse populations. At Oak Hills, our students go places to learn and make a real difference!
College should not just be a place where people go to learn stuff for later. It should be a place where people regularly practice in the REAL world what they learn in the classroom.
OHCC students serve in local ministries and organizations related to their areas of interest. Partner organizations include Evergreen House Shelter, Northwoods Pregnancy Care Center, Habitat for Humanity Re-Store, Community Soup Kitchen and many others, as well as children's, youth and music ministry opportunities at over a dozen local churches. Whatever your passion, you will have the chance to serve while you learn.
This educational opportunity is led by Dr. Gale Struthers, Biblical Studies Program Chair.
