International Student Information
Oak Hills is a non-denominational Christian College located in the northern
woods of Minnesota. Many of our students come for the 2-year Diploma or
Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies. We also have 4-year Bachelor of
Arts Degrees in Biblical Studies with your choice of emphasis in Camp Ministry,
Christian Ministries, Intercultural Studies, Applied Psychology, or Pastoral
Ministry.
We cannot provide any scholarships or special financial help for foreign
students. At this time no scholarships are available for foreign students. To
attend Oak Hills you would need to have $15,910.00 per year plus your own plane fare to the U.S. and home again.
Should you decide to pursue admission here, please complete the special
International Student Preliminary Application (available upon request) which
addresses several major areas, including the following:
Families
Many couples, both with and without children, seek admission to
Oak Hills every year. We recommend applying as soon as
possible because we have limited housing, especially for families
with children.
Letter of Introduction
Ask someone who knows you well to write a letter of introduction,
commenting on your spiritual maturity, your call to ministry, and
your opportunities to answer that call once you have completed your
education. Ask such individuals to briefly identify
themselves, as well. Also, please provide the name, address,
telephone number and mission name of a missionary who might serve as
a reference.
TOEFL Scores
If English is not your native language, please arrange to take
the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Because of
the nature of our program, 500 is the minimum total score for the
paper test or 175 for the computer test that we generally accept.
Testing information can be obtained from various educational
agencies within your country or by writing to TOEFL, Box 6154,
Princeton, New Jersey 08541-6154, U.S.A., telephone (609)951-1100.
Our code number is Spm 214F30.
Composition Skills
You must also demonstrate your ability to write in English by
either taking the Test of Written English (TWE) when you take the
TOEFL or by submitting an essay of three to five pages.
Application Fee
Include a $25 application fee in U.S. funds.
Proof of Support
Immigration law requires proof of financial support of
$15,910.00. If your church or some other group plans to
support you, please have that organization contact us in order for
them to complete a Foreign Student Financial Support Form. If
you will be self-supported, you will need to complete the form
yourself, and include a bank statement or some other sort of
documentation verifying the funds.
