Job Title: Part Time Office and Communications Assistant JOB
DESCRIPTION ORGANIZATION SUMMARY Peace and Hope International is the
USA-based office for Paz y Esperanza, a growing Christian human
rights organization that pursues and promotes justice for persons
and communities who suffer injustice and poverty. Paz y Esperanza
programs currently operate in Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and the USA.
Its USA-based office primarily oversees international programming
for public relations, education, advocacy, capacity building and
exchanges. JOB SUMMARY The part-time position will assist the
co-international director in all aspects of work including: donor
and financial information maintenance, communications and reporting;
public relations activities; event planning; and website
maintenance. A major component of the job will be to promote the
organization’s volunteer service program, Andemos with churches,
universities, seminaries, faith-based organizations and other
groups. LOCATION Minneapolis, Minnesota POSITION TYPE, SCHEDULE &
COMPENSATION $14/hour 20 hours/week This is a part-time 20/hour per
week position. Work days are during regular business hours with some
evening and weekend hours. Scheduling is flexible. While we believe
the position will be ongoing indefinitely at 20/hour week, we are a
growing organization with needs that are quickly shifting as we work
to expand our programming. JOB REQUIREMENTS PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Constituent data entry in Quickbooks, Giftworks and other
applications - Issue regular financial reports - Send donor
acknowledgments - Assist International Director with donor
development - Publish regular e-mail updates and prayer requests -
Publicity - Manage online communications database - Assist with
updating website - Create and disseminate promotional materials -
Assist with event planning and management - Promote volunteer
service program Andemos (www.andemos.net)
- Volunteer recruitment for local office - General office
organization and cleanliness - Other duties as assigned REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS - BA/BS degree or working on completion - At least
1-2 years of professional office experience (may include
internships) - Written/verbal Spanish language proficiency -
Extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite including
experience developing formulas in Excel and presentations in
PowerPoint - Demonstrable knowledge of database use - Comfortable
with Microsoft Publisher - Hands-on experience with Internet search,
social networking, HTML-based emails, e-mail blast tools such as
Constant Contact, online donation tools such as Network for Good,
and other current Internet technologies - Experience working
cross-culturally - Demonstrated commitment to Biblical justice
issues - Ability to work independently with high level objectives
and minimal supervision - High attention to detail - Positive
attitude and team spirit - Participation in regular meetings and
devotional times - Willingness to travel and access to
transportation DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS - 2+ years non-profit
administrative experience - Adobe InDesign - Quickbooks and
