Oak Hills Welcomes New Addition to Admissions Department

Oak Hills Christian College is please to announce the addition of a new member of the Admissions Team. Kierlyn Ward has accepted a position as admissions counselor. She will be replacing Kerin Hanson who has taken a new position at NTC. Kierlyn will be responsible for recruitment of traditional and online students. Kierlyn is a recent graduate of Oak Hills Christian College, and since graduation has been employed by Dunn Brothers and Provisional Contracting in Bemidji. Being a recent graduate, Kierlyn brings valuable knowledge of Oak Hills and will be a valuable part of the team as we move forward for the 2017-2018 year in recruiting. CONTINUE READING

Pair of Oak Hills Runners Qualify for National Meet

ST. BONIFACIUS — The Oak Hills Christian College men’s and women’s cross country teams opened their seasons last Saturday at the Crown College Invite in St. Bonifacius. Two runners were able to qualify for nationals despite the wet and muddy conditions.

A Big Thanks to AmeriCorp

This summer two different AmeriCorp teams, Oak and Cedar, stayed on our campus and volunteered many hours of time cleaning dorms, brushing the lakefront, hauling trees out of the woods, painting, moving furniture, power washing buildings, etc. Their journey here to Bemidji was a joint effort with the Boys and Girls Club in Bemidji, with whom we shared the teams half and half.

Outreach at Oak Hills

Oak Hills Christian College hosted its “Student Outreach Fair” on Thursday morning. The students at Oak Hills contribute about 5,000 volunteer hours in the Bemidji area through the “Student Outreach” class, which is a pre-internship, service learning course that requires students to volunteer 30 hours each semester. Some local organizations students volunteer with include Evergreen Youth & Family Services, Churches United, Community Behavioral Health Hospital, Timber Bay Ministries, The Least of These, Covenant Church, Habitat for Humanity's Restore, Lake George Bible Chapel and Support within Reach.
