Oak Hills Christian College had three runners compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division II National Cross Country meet in Clinton, MS. The Men’s team was represented by Bemidji’s Billy Freyholtz who out ran the field of 50 runners to win the National Championship with an 8K time of 27:45. The 5:35 per mile pace was good enough to have a winning margin of 25 seconds. Freyholtz was also named to the NCCAA DII All-American team. “We are so proud of Billy” Athletic Director Jeremy Anderson stated. “He represented Oak Hills and the Bemidji community with such class all season. It’s also a nice honor to have a National Champion during our first year ever having a cross country program.”

Representing the Lady Wolfpack at the National Championship were Junior Davy Dinkler (Appleton, WI) who finished 8th overall with a 5K time of 20:29 (6:35 per/mile pace), and Sophomore Hannah Hoege (Portage, WI) who finished 22nd overall with a 5K time of 23:55 (7:42 per/mile pace.) “Davy and Hannah did a great job for us the whole season” Anderson stated. “They are wonderful student athletes who we couldn’t be more proud of.”

The Wolfpack Cross Country program was led this year by first year coach, Matthew Myrick.
