Wednesday, September 06, 2017

On Thursday August 31st Oak Hills Christian College hosted a Student Outreach Fair. Many community agencies & ministries gathered in our gymnasium. The Student Outreach Fair is designed to focus on local service-orientated learning. This fair helps students gain hands-on and practical volunteer experience in areas of their interest or their degree program. Students will make a commitment with one of these organizations to serve 30 hours per semester.

This class opportunity would not exist without the help of our Partnering Organizations.
They include:

Bemidji Community Food Shelf

Boys & Girls Club

Eastside Christian Church - Park Rapids Evergreen Youth & Family Service

Evangelical Covenant Church

Evangelical Free Church of Bemidji

Face It Together First Baptist Church of Bemidji

Northern Bible Church

Northwoods Pregnancy Care Center

Northwoods Caregivers

Operation Christmas Child

Timber Bay Ministries

Village of Hope

NEW ADDITION:  Student Outreach has included a Inter-Cultural class this year, led by Dr. Sue Glidden, where students will be volunteering with Redby Community Church, under the direction of Pastor Bill Haas, and later in the semester will be visiting some Twin Cities multi-ethnic ministries.
