Job Description

Keystone Church

Bi-Vocational Worship Leader

Keystone Church is looking for a bi-vocational Worship Leader in the Marion and Cedar Rapids area. Keystone is a conservative church with a contemporary worship style.

We consist mostly of young marrieds and singles. We are a new church plant (1 year)…with a vibrant children’s ministry and youth ministry, a facility in downtown Marion, and a growing church body of 50.

A candidate would literally be joining Keystone on the ‘ground floor’. The worship leader will work hand in hand with the elders and preaching pastor in leading Keystone to minister in and to Marion and Cedar Rapids. Other leadership involvement may include the worship leader in baptisms, events, visitation, funerals, etc. The ideal candidate will have a heart for Christ and the gospel, for volunteers, for the lost, and for relationships.

FAQ

So what does ‘bi-vocational’ mean?

Bi-vocational means that the candidate would support himself/herself either through a different full-time job, raising financial support, or combination of, while at the same time working at Keystone (non-paid) as the worship leader.

Is this a volunteer position?

Although the worship leader is non-paid, it is however, scheduled to be the first full-time paid position at Keystone. Sunday morning worship is so important to us that we’ll do anything and everything, (including helping the right candidate raise support) to financially commit to the right person.

What is a start up church or church plant?

Keystone began in the home of Jeff and Sarah Meyer. A handful of families soon packed out their house on Sunday mornings and so a research project began on the area, demographics of unchurched households, number of area churches etc. After prayer, a geographical circumference of the best possible places to begin a church was put on a map and a facility search ensued. Our church plant was done with a lot of prayer, pre-planning, and preparation. The worship candidate will have a similar experience in developing his/her own worship arts ministry at Keystone.
