| Job Description | Church: First Baptist Church of Whitehall, WI Position: Youth Pastor (full time) Job description: First Baptist is a church with both a long history (150 year anniversary in 2008) and a very fresh vision for ministry in the present and the future. We are a growing congregation, currently averaging 150 in worship attendance with midweek youth attendance of 45 to 60 youth in grades 6-12. Many of those youth are from unchurched families. Our Youth Pastor will take leadership of an established youth ministry and he will be given the freedom to cast fresh vision for that ministry consistent with the overall church vision: Belong … Believe … Become The Youth Pastor’s responsibilities will be to lead or coordinate leadership of all areas of the youth ministry: youth worship, teaching, programmed activities and retreats, relationship building, evangelism, short-term missions, volunteer recruitment and training, budget oversight, etc. Our Youth Pastor will be an Associate Pastor of our church and will have other ministry responsibilities according to gifting and desires. Possible other areas of involvement may include children’s ministry leadership, worship ministry, small group leadership, etc. Candidate description: Our Youth Pastor will be expected to be a strong motivator and encourager of youth, with the desire and ability to establish dynamic relationships. A deep, visible relationship with Jesus and a strong knowledge of and ability to communicate Biblical truth are essential. A heart for and understanding of worship music in youth ministry is also important. Because our church is located in a town of 1600 and draws attendees from several other towns of 600 to 2000, our Youth Pastor must have an understanding and appreciation of small town ministry. He will have to see small town ministry as a God-given call and not as a stepping stone to a larger ministry.
