OHCC Student Success Information

Oak Hills uses many tools to assess how well we our accomplishing our mission. These include:

  • Spirit Pulse, developed by Dr. Todd Hall, Biola University, to measure the spiritual development of students. Spirit Pulse
  • ABHE Bible Exam, developed by our accrediting agency, to measure the Biblical knowledge and critical thinking of students.
  • OHCC Student Evaluation Survey, administered to graduating students in Associate and Bachelor degree programs to receive direct feedback from their perspective on a full range of college functions.
  • OHCC Senior Seminar Exegetical and Integration Research Papers and Presentations, evaluated by faculty and student teams, to assess college level and program level learning outcomes.
  • Alumni Surveys, administered periodically, to assess long-term college effectiveness as measured by employment in relation to degrees obtained and life values.
  • Ruffalo Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction – Priorities Survey, administered every two years to all students, to assess the full range of their college experience.  Student Satisfaction Priorities Survey

Student Learning Objectives

GROWING IN FAITH AND WORSHIP:

Students are committed to continuous growth in their trust in, love for and worship of God, seeking to live lives pleasing to Him.

UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE:

Students will know the Bible and handle it rightly, interpreting it properly for personal and cultural application.

UNDERSTANDING OUR WORLD:

Students will have a knowledge of human thought, history and culture adequate to understand and critique worldviews, to communicate effectively a Christian worldview to others, and to interact meaningfully with their own and other cultures.

INTEGRATING FAITH AND LEARNING:
