A Messsage from Dr. Giese
Jesus wants all of us who belong to Him by faith to know who we are and what we are to do in the world. His metaphors help define our mission.
We are “sheep” assigned to follow a Great Shepherd. We are “salt” meant to preserve deteriorating societies. We are “living letters”
read by men.
We are also “the light of the world...” (Mt. 5:14) reflecting the radiance and reality of a living Savior to a world that walks in spiritual
darkness. We don’t need to produce this light on our own. Our light in the world is the light of His presence within us. “I am the
light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12) We do, however, need
to let our light (His light) shine! Jesus expects to be seen in the world through us! In what we say, in what we do, and in how we
live, we reveal the light and life of Jesus.
