Coming up at Camp Oak Hills

2019 Summer Camp Theme
Courageously Following Jesus
This summer campers will explore what it means to courageously follow Jesus. Using 1 Peter 3:15, camp speakers will share how following Jesus means having the courage to live a life of hope in the face of adversity. They will also spend time learning about and praying for persecuted Christians around the world.
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” 1 Peter 3:15 NIV

Fall and Winter Retreats
Cabin Project Update
The cabin winterization project is underway with four cabins currently being remodeled. They have already been insulated and tongue and groove pine is being installed. The next step is adding the flooring and propane wall heaters. Finally, this spring, the exteriors will get a fresh coat of paint. The estimated cost per cabin is $4,500. So far, $14,860 has been given towards the $54,000 goal to remodel 12 cabins. We are asking God to provide individuals, families, and churches to take on one cabin as a project to fund and/or do the hands-on labor. Please contact camp if you would like to get involved.

First Winter Youth Retreat
In January, camp hosted its first ever winter retreat. Twenty-seven youth and leaders from two local churches enjoyed indoor games, delicious food, and Bible lessons as they made some great memories together. Despite -20 temperatures, the dining hall and cabins were warm.  The cold weather prevented them from enjoying outdoor winter activities like tubing, but they took advantage of the college gym to play floor hockey and archery tag. The weekend was a great success and confirms our vision of operating a year-round camp ministry. If you would like to discuss holding a retreat at Camp Oak Hills starting Fall 2019, please contact the camp office.
