Establishing New Ministry Partnerships – Multiplying Miles of our Reach

We are actively building new partnerships with churches, ministries, and organizations to extend the reach and impact of our mission. These collaborations help place our students in ministry settings and amplify Gospel influence across the region.  Being one of only two colleges offering biblical higher education across the vast region stretching from northeastern Montana to the upper peninsula of Michigan, Oak Hills is in a unique position to prepare the next generation of Christian leaders from these areas, many of them rural.

A recent collaboration of Oak Hills with the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church is a good example of this. Of their approximately 140 churches, about half are located in rural areas. Like many denominations, they have shortage of pastors for these churches. Partnering with Oak Hills, they have encouraged identified lay leaders already serving to complete the rural certificate degree. This 48 credit program provides foundational preparation, in-ministry training, and mentorship in a convenient hybrid online format. Since most small rural churches are unable to afford a seminary graduate, this program, specifically designed for rural ministry, has filled an essential need.
