The Wolfpack Athletic Department is excited to announce that Dallas, Texas native Kierra Townsend has signed her national letter of intent to represent the Lady Wolfpack Basketball team as they restart the program after a several year break. Townsend played high school basketball at Triple A Academy in Dallas, Texas for Coach Darrell Horton and her Amateur Athletic Union career for the Dallas Trojans and the Truth, which was founded by Deion Sanders (NFL and MLB standout).

Kierra was selected as a first team All-Academic member as well as a member of the All-District team. She averaged 8.5 points per game, 7.6 rebounds per game, and 2.1 steals her senior year where they finished with a 26-4 overall record.

“We are extremely excited to have someone of Kierra’s caliber to build our program around,” stated Jeremy Anderson, Head Women’s Basketball Coach. “She not only has the ability to put the ball on the floor and get around someone but she can also pull up and hit the 15 foot jumper”.
