Dick Beardsley shares his story

Oak Hills was blessed during chapel by speaker Dick Beardsley sharing his journey. His story included; the famous Duel in the Sun during the 1982 Boston marathon, recovering from numerous injuries, battling drug addiction, and the loss of his son. Throughout his message Dick shared his reliance upon God to keep going each day and encouraged the students to do the same.

CLH small group performs Casting Call

What would it look like to see people audition for a living nativity? That is the question students answered this past Wednesday as a CLH small group performed Casting Call, written by Eddie James. The play included seven vignettes: a method actress over auditioning for a part as an angel; a man wanting to add the villain Herod to the nativity; a teen missing who we worship; a husband stepping outside his comfort zone; a nerd learning the difference between smart and wise; and a busy mom who learns how loved she is by God. The students: Claricesa Brink, Ben Folen, Billy Freyholtz, Phillip Harris, Whitney Jones, Jasmine Kelley, Zach Pratt, and Brandon Reller played their roles with great wit and wisdom.
