The Oak Hills Cross Country team made history in Jackson, MS this past Saturday (November 11th) as Sophomore Billy Freyholtz once again claimed the NCCAA DII championship while finishing the 8K race in 27:22 - a full 30 seconds ahead of the second place finisher from Bob Jones University. He also received All-American Honors for the second year in a row.
Billy was joined by teammates Dezmond Ramirez (32:40), Brandon Reller (34:57), Landon Peterson (36:13), Joseph Weeks (43:22) and Timmy Kue (43:35) at the
Choctaw Trails course in Jackson, Mississippi. The men's team landed in 5th place at this national meet and set a strong precedent that the Wolfpack
Cross Country program will continue to compete at high level in the years to come.
Cross Country coach Matt Myrick said "I am very proud of the whole Cross Country program. We went from being a start-up program last year with three national
qualifying runners to taking an entire team this year. Everyone in this program worked very hard and I am excited to see the progress we can make by
this time next year."
