OHCC partners with The Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies

Oak Hills Christian College is pleased to announce a partnership with The Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies for early admission into their academic program. Oak Hill’s students who qualify will receive an early admission of up to 18 months before their expected enrollment and will receive a $1000 Early Admission Agreement Scholarship toward their Master of Arts degree in addiction counseling.

The Addiction Counseling Program officially began the fall of 2014 and is directed by Randy McKain, M.Ed., L.S.M. The program was the brainchild of Derrick Houle, M.A., Program Director of Applied Psychology and Instructor of Counseling and Psychology. At this time there have been four graduates, all who are actively working in this field or attending graduate school.

Field Trip for Business Majors

Last week the director of our business program, Dana Schnortz, took students on a field trip to Douglas Machine Inc. Douglas Machine Inc. is an Alexandria, Minnesota based company that manufactures packaging equipment for Fortune 500 companies. Douglas Machine has operated on Biblically-based principles since 1964. The Chairman of the Board, Vern Anderson shared with OHCC students how his faith impacts every area of his personal and professional life.
