Intercultural Communications Class Trip

Wednesday, April 04, 2018

On March 23-24, Oak Hills Intercultural Communications students, led by Adjunct Professor Bill Haas and Teaching Assistant Faith Deppa, experienced an exciting and informative intercultural trip to the Twin Cities. OHCC students engaged with Chinese students from the University of Minnesota in a relaxed setting as well as touring the Chinese exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. One of the highlights of the trip was the Somali Museum. Students and leaders all expressed that they were surprised and enlightened by this part of the two day experience. On Saturday morning, the group joined a local Hmong church in helping to make preparations for their children’s Easter program and decorate the children’s Sunday School room. VBS @ Oak Hills

Monday, March 19, 2018

The theme for Community Life Hour on March 19th was VBS @ Oak Hills. Our Chaplain, Matt Graf asked his wife to lead our community in songs that she uses for Vacation Bible School. Of course these songs require a lot of audience involvement which was needed on a sluggish Monday morning. Mrs. Graf also surprised Matt by performing a parody she wrote for his 40th birthday.
