Through the Student Outreach Program, Oak Hills Christian College students contribute an estimated 5,000 hours of volunteer work into the Bemidji and surrounding communities each year. The program was designed to help students implement what they’re learning in the classroom and put it to use in the real world prior to graduation. On Thursday, April 30th students will be showcasing the work they’ve done throughout the semester with their outreach organizations. The Outreach Showcase will be held from 10-10:30am in the Fellowship Center on the Oak Hills campus.
The Student Outreach Program requires that students (freshmen through juniors) contribute 30 hours per semester to the organization or ministry of their choice. This semester, 70 students collaborated with 24 organizations including the Bemidji Community Food Shelf, the Boys and Girls Club, Northwoods Pregnancy Care Center, and more than a dozen church ministries.
