thoughts from summer camp
Thoughts from Scott –
It was another great summer at camp. Once again, God put together an incredible team of summer staff who were focused on the mission of helping campers meet Jesus and grow as His followers. There were many times this summer, as I walked the camp, observed the staff doing ministry, and heard the laughter of the children they were serving; I was moved to tears. I felt so privileged to be allowed to lead a place where followers of Jesus of all ages, 14 to 80, serve together in community and get to see God at work each day.
The camp setting continues to be a unique place for spiritual growth and discipleship. As we pursue the vision of operating camp year-round, I am excited for these opportunities to expand beyond the summer months. Thank you for praying for and supporting the ministry of camp! Celebrate with me God’s work at camp this past summer.

Thoughts from Staff –
“This week was a kind of rededication week for her. She was saying at the beginning of the week that she felt like she kept messing up and wasn’t a good Christian, but just seeing her realize that the Lord forgives is amazing.”
“He started out rough, but we had lots of deep spiritual talks about life. Such a transformation this week at camp.”
“She loved chapel and it was very exciting to see growth as she made new friends and accepted others into her group.”
Thoughts from a Camper –
“My time at Camp Oak Hills this summer was unforgettable. As soon as I got to camp as a first-time camper, I felt immediately welcomed and loved. Before camp, I was considering being baptized at my church, but I was a little unsure. But at camp, God made it clear to me that I should be baptized and publicize my faith in him. God connected with me all week, through the speaker, the songs, my counselors, friends, and people I didn’t even know before camp! I knew this what He wanted me to do with my life. My week of camp really inspired me to follow God for the rest of my life.” – 2019 summer camper
