welcome new cim missionaries
Sam Dodd
I am excited to be sharing the truth with the youth of Ponemah! It is my hope to reach the lost children and teens as well as encourage those who are new in their faith in Jesus Christ at Ponemah.
My wife, Robin, and I met at Moody Bible Institute in 1988 and married the following year. We have five daughters and a great son-in-law.
I love playing basketball and enjoy most sports. I am an avid Chicago Bears fan. I see scripture memorization as an important discipline of my Christian faith as well as see that as an important tool in ministry at Ponemah. Children and youth infuse me with energy when I am around them, and I am so excited to be back in youth ministry again!
Keith Pennel
My new position is serving as the Director of Education at Mokahum Ministry Center. A few of my responsibilities include scheduling the class modules and teachers for the fall and spring semesters. I am excited to see native men and women become disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus.
Prior to my new role I was bi-vocational serving as pastor in Bemidji and substitute teacher at our local high school. I will continue to pastor and serve at Mokahum.
Les Parr
Les was raised in South Jersey & born again in 1981. His home church is Praise Tabernacle NJ where he served in various capacities and in the process met his wonderful wife of 20 years, Yvonne. After graduating from Elim Bible Institute in NY he was ordained as a minister in 2005.
They have lived 13 years as missionaries in Rwanda with vulnerable families and training church leaders in East Africa. He recently began serving at Mokahum as Student Life Director and a part-time instructor. Les is 1/2 native from the Ojibwe (Mille Lacs band), Nez Perce and Umatilla. His passion is to see people of all nations grow into mature sonship and daughtership in Christ being healed in heart and functioning in their role in the Body of Christ. Please pray as they are adopting 4 Rwandan children!
Micah Carpenter
I’m working to lead Wah-Bun Chapel in Ponemah, MN. I’ve recently graduated from Bethel Seminary (prior to which I attended Oak Hills Christian College). In the past number of years, I’ve also worked in a pastoral ministry capacity for a local church. My interests include reading, writing, preaching, and just hanging out with my wife Katie.
