Wolfpack Pick Up Second Win in Minneapolis

Minneapolis, MN- The Oak Hills Christian College Wolfpack traveled to Minneapolis this past weekend to play three NCCAA DII opponents. Thursday evening the Wolfpack took on NCAA DIII North Central University and took the Rams to overtime before losing at the buzzer 119-116. The Wolfpack made a school record 20 three pointers on 32 attempts. Sophomore Ronnie Jackson led the Wolfpack with 29 points. Sophomore Duke Abalos had 23 points and Freshman Phillip Harris netted 22 in the loss.

Friday evening the Wolfpack bounced back and defeated Faith Baptist Bible College 99-74. The Wolfpack were led in scoring by Harris with 22 points. Four players scored in double digits and the Wolfpack picked up their second win of the season.

Saturday afternoon’s contest pitted the Wolfpack against the 8th ranked NCCAA DII Maranatha Baptist University. After trailing by 5 at the break the Wolfpack battled back in the second half and held a 5 point lead with 1:58 to play. The Sabercats tied the game up at 57 with 36 seconds to play in the game. After a three point attempt the ball went back over to MBU with 26 seconds on the clock. Maranatha Baptist connected on a three point attempt with .60 seconds on the clock for the 60-57 win. Harris again led the Wolfpack with 17 points in the loss.

The Wolfpack are now off for the Christmas break until January 2nd when they travel to Jamestown, ND to take on NAIA DI University of Jamestown.



Oak Hills Falls to Mount Marty

YANKTON, S.D.—The Oak Hills men's basketball team dropped to 1-9 on the year with a 92-59 loss to Mount Marty College on Saturday at Laddie E. Cimpl Arena in Yankton, S.D.

Oak Hills Christian lost the first game of the Israel Stong Classic in Aberdeen, SD to a top ranked William Penn University 106-84. After trailing at the half 55-28, the Wolfpack outscored the Statesmen 56-51 in the second half to come up on the short end in the battle against the NAIA DI Powerhouse. The Wolfpack shot 17/39 from the three point line for the game to keep them in the game. The Pack was led by Sophomore Duke Abalos with 28 points going 8/15 behind the three point line. Sophomore Ronnie Jackson added 17 on 5/8 from the three point line. Junior Blake Dragt and Freshman Jaren Brooks added 7 boards apiece.  


BSU tops Oak Hills in first-ever all-Bemidji matchup

BEMIDJI -- The community’s children came out in masses for Bemidji Youth Basketball Day on Monday night, creating for a fun environment in Bemidji’s first-ever crosstown showdown. The kids cheered all throughout a Bemidji State men’s basketball win over Oak Hills Christian, 115-50, from the BSU Gymnasium. 


Wolfpack Men Fall to NCAA DII UM-Crookston

The Oak Hills Christian College Men’s Basketball team traveled to neighboring Crookston to take on the University of Minnesota-Crookston last evening and came up on the short end 104-68. After playing the Eagles close for the first 18 minutes of the first half the Wolfpack found themselves down by 11 with 1:53 seconds to go. UMC went on a 7-0 run to finish the half up 42-24. The Wolfpack could only get as close as 15 with a layup by Sophomore Guard Ezekiel Cook (Los Angeles, CA) at the 19:10 mark. The Eagles extended their lead and kept the Wolfpack at bay to pick up their first win of the season 104-68. UMC is now 1-2 on the young season and the loss puts OHCC at 1-4. The Wolfpack get back on the floor this Sunday, November 19th when they host NCAA DIII Northland College from Ashland, WI.

Leading the way for the Pack against Crookston were Sophomore Duke Abalos (Odessa, TX) with 25 points on 7-10 three point shooting. Sophomore Ezekiel Cook tallied 19 points and 8 rebounds on the night. The only other Wolfpack in double digits was Freshman Phillip Harris (Memphis, TN) with 11 points.
